Community – Getting Started

Community is an online experience (designed for computers and mobile phones) located at your own Faith Teams location.  From a Community portal, congregants can:

  • See your calendar’s public events.
  • Find and join available groups.
  • Give and manage giving to your church.
  • And for guests, interact with a welcome form to introduce themselves to your church leaders.

We know it can be hard to get things started.  So, here’s some help to bring your members and guests closer to you and your church with Community.

Activate Community

You first need to Activate Community.

  1. Login to Faith Teams
  2. Go to the menu bar, then click on Admin
  3. Then click on Community
  4. From there, if you haven’t already, click on Activate
  5. Then choose your subdomain.  A subdomain is a name that sits in front of the Faith Teams domain.  For example, if your church is called “New Church”, a subdomain could be https://newchurch.faithteams.com.

Let Your Church Know How To Find Community

Your congregants can get to your Community site two ways.  Via your Community URL at Faith Teams or via the Community Mobile App.  The mobile app is available on iOS for Apple iPhones and iPads and on Google Play for a variety of Android phones and tablets

You can use the QR code on the right.  It points to a web page with links to the Apple and Google app stores.  Put it on posters, flyers and even on TVs.

Get Them Excited with Media

We’ve created a promo videos you can play at your church.  And we’ve created banners for your welcome form.  And you can choose what you’d like to use.  Go on the link to the right to see a collection of videos and banners you can use.

Here are the instructions on how to 1.) define which form is your guest form on Community and 2.) how to build a form (and setup a banner for that form).

Copy one of the promo videos to a FAT32 formatted USB drive and then plug that drive into your TV (most TVs today allow for the playing of videos and pictures from a USB drive).  You can then loop a video from that USB drive.  Just choose USB as your TV input.  See the pictures below showing the USB plugged into a TV and the USB input screen.  The video shows a TV playing the promo video on the USB drive.

If you have a newsletter going out soon, you can share with your members and guests this page with information on Community and how to get started with it.  https://faithteams.com/download-community-mobile/.  You’ll want to specify your URL at Faith Teams in your newsletter.  Perhaps you could also share with them one of the promo videos too.  Everyone likes a sizzle reel!
